The Hunting Shelter is used to sleep in and this restores the players energy, passes time, allows the player to hide from enemies, and lets the player save their game. Depending on energy level it will make more time go by, if you have low energy, more time will go by before you can wake up with full energy. To sleep in a Hunting Shelter press Z.
